New Financial Option for Buying Utah Real Estate

Have you been saving up for a down payment on your first house?  Have you been working extra hours, nights, weekends, and overtime, trying to fork as much money as possible into that savings account so within the next two years, you’ll be forking that saved money over to pay off a mortgage, rather than to a landlord who is already financially well-off?  Or, perhaps you’ve saved almost enough, but need an extra couple grand to break the ground for a sizable down payment, or even a down payment that would be acceptable to a home lender?  Perhaps you’ve already spoken to a home lender about how much you will need to put down as a down payment, and you haven’t been able to meet that goal, hard as you’ve tried to save. http://www.utah-home-search.com

Many Utah home dwellers are trying to sell or buy a home in a dragging economy.  Whether you have a home in Davis county that needs to be sold, or are looking to buy a home in Utah county, or perhaps you need an apartment along the Wasatch front, but are sick of renting, many people in the area and Salt Lake City need to sell or buy real estate.  Utah-home-search offers some grants and information about the federal $8,000 home buyer tax credit that can be combined with the $6,000 Home Run Grant.  The federal 2009 tax credit, unlike the 2008 one, does not have to be repaid, and is for first-time home buyers, including buyers looking for a Utah home.  It is the equivalent of the 10% down payment that is often needed to purchase a house, which is good news for those of you struggling to save for that new home in Salt Lake City.

In addition to the tax credit, there is the possibility of a $6,000 Home Run Grant, administered by Utah Housing Corporation.  Many of the same criteria that apply to the federal tax credit apply to the Home Run Grant, such as having a single income of under $75,000, and a joint income of under $150,000.  The home must be a first time buy, applied to closing costs, and applied to the purchase of a new Utah home.  Only Utah residents are eligible.

This may be good news for those of you looking for a solution to digging for that down payment and for the closing costs.  With the federal tax credit, and now the Utah Home Run Grant, anyone looking to buy a home in Utah County, Salt Lake City, Davis County, the Wasatch front, or anywhere else in Utah, no longer has to be afraid to pick up the phone to call their Utah realtor to make a closing offer. http://www.utah-home-search.com
